Uncontrolled Operations

Cape Winelands Airport operates in uncontrolled Class G airspace with a 5 nautical mile radius. All aircraft communicate on frequency 131.1 MHz using the callsign "Winelands Traffic."

Joining altitude is restricted to 2000 ft AMSL by the Cape Town TMA sector A that overlies the airport. Circuit height is maintained at 1,300ft for safe pattern operations.

Visiting aircraft should park on the public apron just East of the fuel bay upon arrival.

Landing Fees

Cape Winelands Airport offers competitive pricing for visiting aircraft. Landing fees are currently free for recreational aircraft, with charges only applying to commercial operations and Approved Training Organizations (ATOs).

All landing fees are payable to the Facilities Manager at the fuel bay immediately after landing. Monthly block arrangements are available upon request for regular operators.
