Stories of pets, escapades, garden safaris, and feathered dictators
"Two eights, or four fours, or double digits of pure fun!" Tyler cheered as he and Jordyn unveiled a brand new banner painted for the living room in Ashford.
The shimmering gold banner read: THE STORYTELLING JACKPOT – 16 AND COUNTING!
"Well, if that doesn't beat all. Sixteen stories of pets, escapades, garden safaris, and feathered dictators. Who would have thought our little video calls would turn into a regular book series?"
At Waterfall Kennels in Fourways, Granddad Richard looked up from his desk to see the banner glowing on his tablet screen — and raised his coffee mug in a toast.
The beloved dogs — practically famous now, and lobbying hard for chapters dedicated entirely to napping.
A beloved member of the household crew who sensed the festive mood and gathered for the milestone celebration.
The feathered dictator himself — present at the celebration, from a safe distance, as befits his commanding nature.
"Dad says we have enough material here to fill a whole library shelf. And the animals are practically famous now. Jack and Joey want to know when they get their own chapters dedicated entirely to napping."
Jordyn leaned proudly against the sofa, beaming at the milestone the family had reached together — one story at a time.
What began as simple video calls between Ashford and Fourways grew, story by story, into something no one quite expected — a real, ongoing family chronicle.
"Tell them that professional nappers don't need chapters — they command the whole book."
— Granddad Richard, adjusting his glasses with a chuckle
Not just sixteen stories — but the laughter, the connection, and the adventures still to come, shared across the miles between two households who never stopped telling tales.
A milestone worth celebrating with banners, coffee mugs, and a parrot at a safe distance.
Ashford and Fourways — connected across the miles by pets, laughter, and storytelling.
Jack, Joey, Barnaby, and Captain — the furry and feathered heroes of every tale.
"Here's to sixteen, and to many more adventures yet to come!"
Granddad Richard's toast said it all — the jackpot isn't just the number. It's the promise of more stories, more animals, more laughter, and more miles bridged by the simple joy of telling tales together.
Sixteen stories celebrated with a hand-painted gold banner in Ashford.
Jack, Joey, Barnaby, and Captain — practically famous, and still making headlines.
Many more adventures yet to come, shared across the miles between two beloved households.
